In my previous blog I have explained the important of hydration, what to do to stay hydrated. I also explained about the food to eliminate from the diet and the importance of having a clear plan and getting organized.

Today you are going to learn why you need to cleanse from the outside in and I will give you 3 action steps on how to do it.

WHY DETOXIFYING FROM THE OUTSIDE IN?

To understand this, let’s first quickly see how the body detoxify naturally.

THE LYMPHATIC SYSTEM: toxins and waste from tissue are collected in the lymph vessels, filtered through the lymph nodes and dump it into our blood

THE LIVER, THE KING OF DETOX: filters the blood from toxicity coming through the food we eat; harmful minerals, medications, excess hormones and xenoestrogens

THE KIDNEYS: also filter our blood and regulate water level in the body and eliminate excess of salt and waste from through the URINE

THE COLON: eliminates solid wastes through the feces

We support those organs eating clean, natural, real food and eliminating all those foods groups and ingredients that I discussed in my last blog– we also support those organs by increasing hydration.

And the reason why we are adding some external practices is because we want to support our largest organ of detoxification which is THE SKIN!

Perhaps we don’t think about the skin as a major organ of detoxification, but indeed it plays an important role by eliminating crystal waste through sweating…and we all know that when we are eating unhealthy foods or when we overburden our liver…some of the first signs we sees are on our skin…rashes, pimples, spots, increased inflammation, eczema, psoriasis and itching.

We need to make sure that our skin can properly eliminate waste and absorb nutrients it needs from the outside in.

ACTION STEP NUMBER 1: BECOME A LABEL INSPECTOR

You need to become a label inspector, not only for the food products you buy but also when you buy any personal hygiene products that you put on your skin! If that product contains toxic substances …your skin will absorb those chemicals right into your body and send them into circulation.

And don’t be fooled about terms such as Natural, organic, clean… unfortunately the regulation on the use of these terms is very loose and those terms mean very little!

Action: download the free app called THINK DIRTY… once you have downloaded it on your phone you can simply scan any items of personal toiletries before you buy it and it gives you a score that represent how clean or dirty, they are. Choose accordingly … and you will be surprised, as I was how some very expensive and well-known brands are absolutely full of rubbish!

Make sure your skin is not exposed to unnecessary toxicity from the products you use…little by little…substitute your personal toiletries with safe choices.

ACTION STEP NUMBER 2: SWEAT EVERY SINGLE DAY!

Sweating is how your skin gets rid of impurities and waist … how to do it?

Ideally …if we weren’t living through the current limitations … I would recommend that you go for a sauna … but at the moment we cannot, so another effective way is of course exercising … which, by the way, you would do even if you were able to do the saunas …

During a cleanse especially at the beginning, respect you energy levels, do not push yourself, do what feels good for you … if you are starting from level 0 a gentle walk is all you need to do … and equally if you are used to high intensity exercise perhaps during the first part of a cleanse you don’t want to push yourself as hard as you are used to.

There are other more pleasant ways to sweat of course … I leave it to your imagination  ! In this blog I will limit myself to suggest that you have a lovely detox bath in the evening before you go to bed using magnesium bath flakes – you need about 2 cups in a bath. Add some lavender oil too. You need to soak in a hot bath for at least 20 minute and then wrap yourself in towels and go to bed, under the covers where you continue to sweat.

ACTION STEP NUMBER 3: BODY BRUSHING EVERY DAY!

This is one of the best ways to stimulate the lymphatic system.

This is beneficial because it assists the lymph nodes in keeping blood and other vital tissues detoxified.  It is energizing, assists in breaking up cellulite, removes dead skin, stimulates circulation, and strengthens the immune system.

To do this, you will need a natural bristle brush, which can be purchased at most health food stores or pharmacies.  Start at your feet and work up the body in long strokes towards your heart.

Be sure to cover the whole body but skip the face and the breasts.  Do not feel like you need to spend a tremendous amount of time on this, 2–3 minutes prior to your shower is fine.

These are just 3 of the rituals that I advise during a cleanse programme. There are many others beneficial practices which would assist you during a cleanse and make it more effective and pleasant.

I provide my clients with a detailed protocol of how and when do plan these rituals in their daily routine so that it is clear what needs to be done at different stages of the cleanse programme.

Make sure you do prepare a plan for you and include all the different activities and rituals to make a successful cleanse so you can reap the full benefit of cleansing, more energy, less symptom and weightloss.

As I said before a cleanse is simple and all you need is 14 days to see results, but it is not easy. If don’t plan you are planning to fail.
