“I decided to take part in Monica’s “14 Days to Thrive” Spring Cleanse to reset my body and mind with a view to improving my health longer term and weightloss, having had a baby recently and getting into not-so-great lockdown habits. I’m so glad I did! I had prepared myself for a fairly tough two weeks, but I really didn’t find it tough at all.

I absolutely loved the meal plans and shopping lists Monica provided and set up food deliveries for each phase of the cleanse. It was really exciting when all these wonderful fresh ingredients arrived – and several things I never think to order in my normal weekly shop. The recipes were so delicious, with big portions so I rarely felt hungry. I also loved the daily protocol routines Monica provided (particularly the luxurious magnesium baths) so my focus was kept throughout the day and it all felt like a bit of pampering ‘me time’ – something I rarely get!

The cleanse helped so much too! “I was introduced to The Metabolic Reboot Programme by a friend who had previously attended a similar course and recommended it to increase my energy levels.

During the first lockdown period I had overindulged my sweet tooth, including extra chocolate and alcohol, and now that we were facing more time in lockdown I knew I couldn’t continue with this habit! I was a little nervous signing up as I realised it would be quite a restrictive diet but I absolutely shouldn’t have worried.

The support given by Monica and the other members over our weekly zoom meetings was enormous. Monica’s knowledge and explanations about the values and impact of different food types on the body made so much sense and she was an inspiration to us all.
The programme restricted the intake of caffeine, wheat, lactose and sugar but after an initial couple of days getting used to a new routine I didn’t miss any of these too much at all. I also didn’t feel hungry as the smoothies were very satisfying and surprisingly I didn’t need to snack between meals!

The recipes were so tasty that I didn’t feel deprived at the evening meals, and as they were enjoyed by the whole family, including the vegetarians, I still incorporate them in my list of ‘go to’ meals during the week.

Daily exercise has been a necessity for us all to feel positive during lockdown but Monica’s target of 10k steps encouraged me to walk further afield and discover different areas of my local countryside. It just made me feel good to connect with nature and again something that I have continued to incorporate in my daily routine.

I felt more energised, better focused and also extremely happy with my weight loss of 9lbs over the 3 week period. Even better is that I have not regained the weight since finishing the course!

My body was in desperate need of a reset and despite exercising regularly I had toned up but could not lose any weight. Monica’s cleanse was so easy to follow, she had thought of everything including comprehensive shopping lists and even supplying links to where to buy some of the products. The Facebook group was great support and encouragement and Monica was always on hand to provide a guidance and answer questions. Unfortunately, I never made the weekly Zoom calls due to family commitments, however I appreciated that Monica saved the Zooms so I could listen to them when I had time to myself. Two weeks for a cleanse, I thought would be a difficult commitment, but Monica had put so much thought into how much time people have available by suggesting batch cooking in the week, so I could prepare in advance. I’m a 48 year old professional, wife, and mother of two pre-teens! I love my work and I love spending as much time with my family as possible so sometimes the schedule gets crazy. It doesn’t always leave time for preparing the best meals for myself and my family and while my kids remain very fit and healthy through all of their activities, I found myself getting less and less the person I once was. Being at home during the pandemic this last year has given me the time and perspective that I needed to really commit to a program, and I’m still going on the meals from the recipe book from the Autumn cleanse. I find the flavours are just that little bit different from the ingredients I would normally use in Vancouver and everything is SO delicious. The foods are so filling and easy to prepare. “Thank you, Monica! I’m so glad I did the 14 Day Cleanse. The experience has been truly enlightening. Over the past few years my weight has been gradually creeping up. I knew I wanted to kickstart my approach to eating well, but I lacked the will power to get through the day without snacking on chocolate, cake, and ice-cream (my personal addictions), and then drinking some wine each night.

The Cleanse was much easier than I expected, considering that I was giving up caffeine, wheat, sugar, dairy, and alcohol. “I contacted Monica as, despite having reached menopausal age and not displaying any obvious symptoms, I had been increasingly putting on weight. I have always been slim and the weight gain was significant (65kg to 78kg over two years), despite a healthy diet and regular exercise.

I could not fit into lots of my clothes and felt despondent – I just did not feel like myself. I am also an events organiser with a very active social life which requires a lot of eating out and attending events which of course has its challenges with dieting/weight loss.
Monica reviewed my diet and discovered that it was not how I was eating but, rather, what I was eating. Through some very simple changes and continual consultation with Monica, I was able to overhaul my diet and focus on those foods which I should avoid, rather than restricting quantities etc. I could still enjoy a wide variety of foods so eating/going out was still very enjoyable.

Within 3 months I had lost over 8kg. This was coupled with a variety of other tests (bloods etc) and the prescription of relevant vitamin supplements to support my programme, together with making sure I continued to maintain a programme of regular (but enjoyable) exercise.

Under Monica’s guidance I became more conscious of the food choices I was making. I am still enjoying a very active social life but, through making better choices, I am still able to enjoy food (including dining out and attending parties) while maintaining a sensible weight.

“I had given up on my body after being plagued with injuries and health issues for years. To me it was broken. I didn’t care about it, resented it and felt detached from it. I was eating all the wrong foods and as a result had insomnia, bloating, fatigue and some other unpleasant side-effects.
