Consistency in making the right daily choices is critical for future success in any goal, and there is no exception when it comes to your health goals.

You have set your health goals, and you know your why ( and if you don’t, this is something you absolutely need to do while you plan your strategy for success).

Whatever your health goals might be for you…more energy, weight loss, a stronger body, fitting in some skinny jeans, improving your sleep, managing an autoimmunity disorder …  You know how you want to feel and look.

But,  there is a strong dichotomy between what you want and how you feel right now. Perhaps,  you are feeling frustrated because you think where you want to be is still so far from where you are, and your vision gets foggy, and sometimes you might lose it altogether.

Or maybe you have made some progress and felt better, but now you are feeling stuck, frustrated and anxious that perhaps you cannot get to the next level. You start doubting your goals and your vision for what you desire.

These feelings cause friction, and you are now looking for something which makes you feel instantly better… something that fixes the way you feel straight away…right now!

Instant gratification versus what you really want

A glass of wine, a bar of chocolate, a slice of cake, your favourite childhood comfort food, the extra time on social media looking for likes, time spent on the sofa watching Netflix and eating popcorns … fill the dot with your “go-to” make me feel trick … you are looking for instant gratification to take away the frustration, the upset, the discouragement that you are experiencing.

If you are going through this constant battle between immediate gratification and what you really want for your health and body, it is tough to stay consistent in making the right choices.

But there are strategies that you can learn to avoid falling into the instant gratification trap.

The first step is awareness. Observing yourself at the moment when you are hesitating to make the right choices and then ask yourself this straightforward but powerful question:

“Does this choice support the creation of the health and body I really want?”

Because what you choose today creates your reality in your future.

Your future body, your health, your energy, your better sleep, and your body free of pain and aches…are made by the consistent good choice you make today.

It’s a simple but powerful question to reconnect you with what you really want.

So remember your question: “Does this choice support the creation of the health and body  I really want? “ and give yourself an honest answer.

If it is a no, move on to something else. You don’t have to be perfect. No need to get it right all the time. For your vision of health to become a reality, you need an 80/20 balance, where 80% of your choices are “Yes” to that question. The remaining 20% are for your conscious decisions of choosing differently and for those times when …  well, it just happens!
